We are always on Zillow looking at homes down there…. we will be moving down there… just don’t know the timeframe
Which area(s) do you look at?

Within 1 hr from the parks…. my wife is looking at Lady Lake…. we have found homes around Davenport and Champions gate…. Winter Garden looked nice also… our next trip to the area we plan on renting a car to see these areas for ourselves

June 1, 2020 at 9:14 am #134434OH HECK YES I’d move!!
June 1, 2020 at 10:03 am #134440I’m definitely in the “keep my distance” camp. I actually worked in WDW on the college program a loooooooong time ago. I loved it, but I wouldn’t live down there again. I love going to visit, but I think living there it would loose it’s magic.
June 1, 2020 at 10:04 am #134441I don’t think so. I think NC is about as far south as I want to go. I like having seasons, and being able to go outside in July
If money was no object, I’d take longer trips there and get a plaid vest when I went
June 1, 2020 at 10:46 am #134471That would be a NO from me. I mean, I’ve never been but I also know I don’t want to live there
We HAVE discussed states we could move to and I think North Carolina is the closest we’d get.June 1, 2020 at 10:52 am #134473Would I move to Florida? YES.
June 1, 2020 at 12:55 pm #134480I think there’s a little part of me in both camps! I would love to be a “snowbird,” living down there in the cooler months and coming back home in the warmer months. If I did that, though, I would want to live a little ways out from Orlando. That way, it would still feel like a getaway when we went to Disney! I’m not sure I would feel that it was if I lived right there all the time. WDW is my place to get away from the real world. If I lived there, it would be my new real world, if that makes sense!

Yup! I get it… I have no issues moving down there…. no more $#%^7%$ snow to shovel
June 1, 2020 at 8:53 pm #134492i’d love to live in florida just for the weather alone!! i think being a “disney local” would have both its pros and cons, but i’d rather get to go more often even if it took away from the magic a bit.
honestly, if i could, i’d probably move to florida right now! but i don’t want to leave my family (or my dogs!!
)

The weather and the beach would be enough for me! If I was a local I don’t think I’d go to Disney every day or even every week, but I would like to take advantage of things I otherwise wouldn’t be able to. For example, if a show was going away or a ride was closing, I’d be sure to experience it one last time. I would spend time at Disney Springs, we usually skip it because there’s just not enough time or if we do stop by it’s for dinner and a quick stop at World of Disney and that’s it. I know there’s a lot more to do there. We’ve always wanted to ride the hot air balloon but the one day we tried it wasn’t running due to the wind. We haven’t had time to try again. I would also go to MNSSHP every year.

June 2, 2020 at 11:41 am #134530I’m in the Keep My Distance club.
But my reasons are probably totally different realm than everyone else.
My every move in life is based on the outcome for my oldest who has Down syndrome.
South Dakota is a very red state and that can be an issue in some regards, but the benefits we receive here for my son are better than they are in most States. Also the school district we are in is the best around. We are very specific about what we do as it relates to his future and his well being.
I do wish we had more access to get to Disney more often though. To get from South Dakota to Florida requires a lot of planes. ha!
Also, as a full blooded Norwegian (by blood not by birth in Norway – third generation American) my genes are meant for cooler weather. It got up to 97* yesterday here and I was planted in front of the AC.
