I’m really curious, if you could move to Florida, would you?
Imagine if you will that money is no object. The genie in the lamp tells you he’s lined up a job for you, picked out a house in your preferred location, and he’s covering all the moving costs. Would you do it? If you had no obstacles in your way, would you pull the trigger and go?
I’m curious because there seem to be two types of people: the ones that can’t get enough and dream of moving to Florida to be closer to the magic, and the ones who prefer it to be their special place and want to create a little distance. I can’t figure out which camp I’m in. Which are you?
May 29, 2020 at 2:10 pm #134358I’m in the, Keep My Distance Club.
I love how I feel pampered and already “in the bubble” as soon as we board DME
Wouldn’t want it any other way.
May 29, 2020 at 2:15 pm #134359Yes!
We would do it in a heartbeat especially if the stars lined up just right like that. We are planning on doing it soon now that our boys are grown and on their own. We need to get things sorted and ready before we make the plunge but we will get there one way or another! There are also so many other things to see & do in Florida that we haven’t got to experience yet that are on our bucket list.
May 29, 2020 at 3:32 pm #134365In a heartbeat! Yesterday is not soon enough! It actually probably has less to do with proximity to WDW than no real winter and being able to go to the beach anytime I want. Heck, beach access while we’re dreaming! Although being able to drive to WDW certainly helps too! Alas, it will never be for me.

Yeah WDW aside I’d go for those reasons too. It’s been a year since I went to the beach and before that it had been 6 years!
and you know how much I detest winter! Every year I ask myself “why do I live here?!”
May 29, 2020 at 5:06 pm #134369You and I are such twins in that regard!
May 29, 2020 at 5:27 pm #134370Absolutely positively in a heartbeat we would move! Our goal is to move to Florida, hopefully within the next 5 years. I’ve lived in the desert nearly my entire life and I am absolutely sick of brown and dirt! I love the green and the water so very much! We would be over the moon excited to live in St. Augustine. We fell in love with it on our visit there a couple years ago. A lot of things have to line up and happen before we can even think about it though. The water, in any form, has such a calming effect on me! All my stress just melts away! I would be happy by the ocean, the gulf or at least a lake or river in Florida! My requirement is to be within a few hours drive of WDW and preferably near the water! One day this will happen!
May 29, 2020 at 5:56 pm #134371I am torn. its always been a dream to move closer to Disney, so we can go anytime we want. I am just worried about how awful I am in heat and humidity. so it money is no object and I can run the AC as much as I want I would do it LOL. but I have to admit that Fall is my favorite season and I would be sad to give that up. But like Heather says, I would need to be on a lake or coast
west coast maybe
May 29, 2020 at 7:11 pm #134373+ A job
+ A Golden Oak HouseI’ll take it!
May 29, 2020 at 7:11 pm #134374We are always on Zillow looking at homes down there…. we will be moving down there… just don’t know the timeframe
May 29, 2020 at 9:37 pm #134375Maybe a little of both? lol I’m working on a move to Florida in the next few years. But I’m planning on moving to South Florida. I figure I’ll be closer to WDW and but not so close I’ll get sick of it.
May 30, 2020 at 6:31 am #134391I would absolutely hate the heat and having no change of seasons. It’s bad enough here in SC. I would also hate to get jaded by being so close. I’d be afraid that my favorite place would turn into just another tourist trap and I would be annoyed by traffic and people on vacation while I worked lol. I’ll admit that the deal on the house and the job might be enough of an enticement though. Anything to get me out of this town lol.
May 30, 2020 at 5:46 pm #134403I dont think I would. I have unique medical issues. That is why I have a retirement home in Pagosa Springs CO. If I had that level of money, I would buy a motorhome and visit twice a year.
May 30, 2020 at 5:58 pm #134405I don’t think I’d live there year round but I’d love to have a winter home near Disney (and I also heard there’s a few other parks in the area)
May 30, 2020 at 10:12 pm #134410+ A Golden Oak House
I’ll take it!
That’s cheating!
