And as great as 7DMT is I am feeling a bit disappointed by Under the Sea, especially after so much time and money was spent on New Fantasyland. I think the Frozen Ever After attraction that replaced Maelstrom would have been suited for that location in New Fantasyland.
January 6, 2017 at 1:41 pm #5850@ABeach – With Under the Sea I feel like the queue is fantastic and the ride is so-so. That said, I ride it just about every time I visit now.
I believe all these attraction ideas were good ideas, just not great ones. Especially where Frozen and Avatar are concerned, I just don’t think they have a good long-term staying power. I know they’re making sequels to both which will certainly prolong their popularity, but I doubt they will ever have the seemingly timeless popularity of rides like Haunted Mansion, The Magic Kingdom Mountain Range, Soarin’, Kilimanjaro Safari, and Toy Story Mania.
January 6, 2017 at 1:53 pm #5852@RocketEAR99 – I’ve only ridden Under the Sea once and we choose not to ride it anymore. It occupies the same space in my thoughts as Stitch’s Great Escape. I had such high hopes for New Fantasyland as a whole, and while there are bright spots (The entire Beauty and the Beast area and 7DMT), I feel disappointed or underwhelmed with other parts (Under the Sea, an additional Dumbo attraction). Having said that, I think that the exterior of The Little Mermaid area looks really nice. I just expected more from the attraction.
You make some very good points and observations!
January 6, 2017 at 2:17 pm #5857Per @rocketEAR99 I have a new unpopular opinion
Flower and Garden Festival > Food and Wine Festival
January 6, 2017 at 2:27 pm #5858Per @rocketear99 I have a new unpopular opinion
Flower and Garden Festival > Food and Wine Festival
I’ve not been to Food and Wine so I can’t compare, but I do love the Flower and Garden! It’s become one of our favorite times of the year to go.
January 6, 2017 at 2:43 pm #5866I approve of your unpopular opinion Kelly
I enjoy Food & Wine slightly more, but I do love to see everything they’ve done to decorate for Flower and Garden Peter Pan on top of a building in the United Kingdom has to be one of my favorites that they do since he’s so inconspicuous.
January 7, 2017 at 12:22 pm #5909@nascfan I’m just a grump, because the World Showcase at night is one of my favorite places to be, and during food and wine it’s SO BUSY. Every single night. It’s not like that during Flower and Garden, I think that festival has the best of everything, some food booths and beautiful displays
January 7, 2017 at 7:43 pm #5933@kcboston you’ve got no problems with me! So you suggest my daughter and I hit it early in the day in October then? to avoid the worst crowds? I do like how Flower and Garden is having more food booths too.
January 7, 2017 at 10:36 pm #5944@Nascfan yes, earlier in the day is better! And try to stick to weekdays! Crowds are heavier in the evenings and on the weekends.
January 7, 2017 at 11:35 pm #5953Here are a couple of mine…
I like Pop Century. My kids might actually like staying here more than the deluxe resorts. It’s fun, has a great food court, and the kids love the arcade. Transportation is busy, but efficient. We’re in the parks most of the time, so we are really just looking for a place to lay our heads in the evening.
I like the Figment ride. This is sentimental for me. When my now 12 yo was a toddler, she couldn’t get enough of this ride. Is it groundbreaking? No, but that little purple dragon has a fan in me.
January 8, 2017 at 12:18 am #5954I agree with F&W…it is a zoo! Long lines at every booth and thick with locals. Not saying I won’t go back, just that I could see F&G being more appealing.
I can’t stand Captain EO. So glad it’s gone.

I’m not sure how unpopular these opinions are, but I am on board with both of these. We love Pop and is our home when it’s just the two of us. With two adult “kids” now, we do need more space when it’s the four of us, but otherwise Pop serves us very well. Our reasoning is why spend more when Pop has all we need? As for Figment, it’s no headliner but very cute and something we seem to make sure we ride every trip!
January 8, 2017 at 6:59 am #5958Kelly, Heather, and Jamie, thanks you guys! This is good advice for Food & Wine, and something my daughter and I will use in October. Just one more reason to love D-Cot!
January 8, 2017 at 9:34 am #5960@eeyorepoohfan I 100% agree with everything you said. Avoid weekends like the plague, and try to hit the booths earlier in the day. My friends and I tried to go on a Saturday in 2015, and we didn’t even make it past the international gateway before we turned around and left. When we went last year, we hit most of the booths from 11 am to 4 pm, and shared everything so we could try more.
