Be Safe. I hope those who got evac orders to them seriously. I just saw an announcement that Emergency Services will not risk personnel on people who did not evac.
Believe me I understand after living on the Gulf Coast, most of that within 20 miles of the coast, and going thru several hurricanes for past 50 plus years it’s nerve wracking.
Anyhow my wife and I feel like the harbingers of hurricanes, went to Charleston, SC 3 weeks after hurricane Michael, we visited Holly Beach, LA a week before hurricane Laura wiped it off the map, went to Galveston, TX a week before hurricane Ike. Then again it may just be me, the first time we went to WDW in 1972 we were in Biloxi on our way as hurricane Agnes hit Pensacola, FL area.
WAIT! The second thing is GET IT ALL CLEANED UP for my Oct 14 visit!
Everything is good here in Orange County, I’m prepared for the next day. Tomorrow morning expecting high winds with heavy rainfall, hopeful the category will be 1 instead of 5?
yes stay safe peeps! but i have to agree with @PaydirtBurt on the cleaning up part…i mean at least the airport so i can fly in…and Vero Beach cuz i think i’d cry if my vacay got canceled (pre-menopause is real y’all and it requires i get a break)
I hope everyone either weathered or is weathering the storm okay. My heart breaks for my beloved Sanibel. Seeing some of the images from Fort Myers on the mainland, I shudder to think of the devastation on the island once the crews can get out there. I have to imagine that it’s all gone. I only hope any loss of life will be minimal.
