Oh my gosh, reading all of this is making me hungry!!
My favorites:
Magic Kingdom: I realized the only TS I have done is breakfast at Crystal Palace. I do love it but would love to try some others that I have heard are great!
Epcot: Via Napoli and Biergarten (loved the music and atmosphere)
Animal Kingdom: Yak and Yeti
Hollywood Studios: 50’s Prime Time and Sci-Fi Diner!
Glad to hear some good reviews on Tusker House!! We have reservations in September!!April 27, 2017 at 10:39 am #24374@DC07DDA That’s probably another case of ‘personal preferences’ …
Personally I am not in a hurry to go back to Akershus in Norway because I didn’t care for the food. The cold bar was food that I was not familiar with, and I didn’t really like. Also, my meal of meatballs was not very good, but was bland and slimey.
I also did not personally care for T-Rex in Disney Springs because the food was sooooo mediocre and I could have eaten the same meal at Applebees at home. Plus it sounded like I was inside of the Dinosaur ride at AK because it was so loud!
Great example of how ones palette influences opinion. Akershus in Norway is my favorite
April 27, 2017 at 10:42 am #24377@DA07DDA Although not in a park but easy to get to on the monorail Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian.
The food was very good and the lobster among the best I’ve ever had. The steaks and fish are very good as well.
If you go there, get an ADR about an hour before wishes (or whatever the new show is) and ask for a table by the windows with a view of the MK and tell them you’ll wait for the table. They have a nice bar there as well.
Then watch the fireworks with music piped into the restaurant and have a great evening.April 27, 2017 at 11:58 am #24394I love so many restaurants at WDW, but I definitely have my faves.
MK: Be Our Guest…Crystal Palace is a favorite too.
Epcot: Biergarten and Via Napoli. We eat at these two every time we go.
Hollywood Studios: Mama Melrose’s and Sci Fi Diner
Animal Kingdom: Tusker House
Disney Springs: Portobello ItalianApril 27, 2017 at 12:00 pm #24395Here are my favorites from the four theme parks at WDW.
Magic Kingdom
- Be Our Guest (lunch)
- Cinderella’s Royal Table (for the kids)
- The Crystal Palace (breakfast)
Epcot
- Le Cellier (chedder cheese soup and filet)
- San Angel Inn (the atmosphere!)
- Teppan Edo
- Via Napoli (best pizza)
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Mama Melrose’s
- Sci-Fi Dine-In (at least once for the atmosphere)
- 50’s Prime Time (if you can’t make it for the meal, go next door for the PB&J milkshake)
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Tusker House
April 27, 2017 at 12:08 pm #2439650’s Prime Time (if you can’t make it for the meal, go next door for the PB&J milkshake)
Yes the PB&J Milkshake is sooooo good!
April 27, 2017 at 12:14 pm #24400San Angel Inn is my all time favorite!
April 27, 2017 at 12:35 pm #24407I have to disagree with my hubby.. Mama Melrose was underwhelming :-/

Yep, it’s just food.
April 27, 2017 at 12:51 pm #24412@Chelle I would agree with Steve, but my wife would probably agree with you if we went there. She’s from New Jersey so she’s had the best Italian food you can find in this country and Italian food anywhere else does not impress her.

Uh Oh, do we need Dr Phil!
I have just one question, if you two split, who gets us? oh the trauma…….
April 27, 2017 at 12:56 pm #24416We are also from NJ
Steve created D-CoT before we dated. D-CoT was his first baby! I really have nothing to do with it… I’m just here planning Disney vacations

Um, I make the best Italian food anywhere! Mangia!!!!!

That explains it!
April 27, 2017 at 1:04 pm #24420First, i wish to say I have never had a bad dish. That being said, some of much better then others.
@dngnb8 Very valid points you raised and I agree. People do have different tastes and that will affect their reviews. I don’t even eat barbecue at WDW because I know it won’t taste like the barbecue I’m used to here in the South. So my reviews will be biased in the sense that I can’t say WDW’s barbecue food is good or bad, I skip it all together. Like you said, I haven’t had any meals at WDW that are bad a couple were average, meaning I could get that same thing outside of WDW, but mostly it’s just food I liked much better at some places than others.
@DA07DDA My personal reviews will be biased in that we choose where we eat based on 1) food we can’t get at home and 2) atmosphere. For example I’ve never eaten at Via Napoli because there are plenty of incredible pizza places in my city. Nothing against Via Napoli, I just prefer food we can’t get (like fresh seafood, we’re in a landlocked state) or an atmosphere we can’t get at home, like the Garden Grill. That might help you with choosing where you dine. -
