I am planning a trip for November of this year. I just got back at the beginning of February but you know how the fever is. This upcoming trip will be the very first for my new niece who will be turning 3 on our last day in Orlando. This trip will revolve around her of course and I can’t wait to see her face! We’re staying off property in a house and my extended family is going. That will be new as well. I’ve only ever gone with my best friend or my immediate family. Never cousins and aunts & uncles. We’re going to take it slow for sure. We’re going to do MVMCP and a day at Epcot, and a day at AK. No DHS this time since there is so much construction and not a lot to do. We’ll also do a couple of days at Universal since I’m a major Harry Potter dork. Slytherin in the house!!!
My plans for dining will be Chef Mickey’s before the Christmas party. I haven’t eaten here but once and it was a good 13 years ago at least.
Boma for breakfast on our AK day
Ohana when we arrive
Garden Grill on Epcot day
Three Broomsticks on one of our Universal days.I’m trying not to book too many ADR’s on this trip since there are so many people going and it’s killing me. lol
So when is your next trip and what are your plans?
April 22, 2017 at 2:47 pm #23452We are planning to go next year in October, I love Halloween at Disney, it’s always so much fun !! We will stay at AOA again, I loved it there !!
April 22, 2017 at 3:30 pm #23463Our next trip is this Sept 2-9 at the Port Orleans Riverside resort. We have 6 day park hopper tickets, and we are very excited to go to the Food and Wine Festival for the first time! We usually go WDW in September, and we miss F&W by a week or so. This year they have extended the dates to actually include our week We have already made 8 dining reservations and we are super excited.
April 22, 2017 at 5:01 pm #23485@acamm So glad you finally get to attend F&W!!! You will love it! not sure if this is your game plan or not, but the first time we did F&W we made an ADR each day we went to Epcot to return to some of our favorite places. We regret that. We were having so much eating at F&W that we really didn’t need a sit down meal. They had just introduced the new cancellation policy where you got charged for any cancellations closer than 24 hours out, so we still went to our ADRs since we would be cancelling just a couple hours out. We would have preferred to skip those and just enjoy the offerings at F&W.
April 22, 2017 at 5:03 pm #23486@disneydana I do know how the fever is! Good thing you have another trip in the works (that’s pretty close) you can look forward to how exciting to be taking your niece so close to her birthday! You’ll have a magical time I’m sure, especially with MVMCP! :santa: I think you’ve made a smart choice on the ADRs, that’s a lot of people to manage and please. We had a big group one trip and there was lots of “oh, actually I don’t want to eat there” from some people on the day and the reverse too, “Oh I know we’re not on your reservation, but can we come eat dinner with you tonight?” :hmmph: side note: I am a HUGE Universal Orlando fan too, so happy to chat with you on that topic also
April 22, 2017 at 5:30 pm #23487Trying to do a quick trip during Memorial Day weekend…. actually looking for homes to possibly make a move down there. Wish us luck!

That’s what I’m worried about with everyone and their choices. I’m refusing to deal with more than one ADR a day. I tried to pick resorts so that in the case of people whining about price or food choices, they will have a food court they can go to. I hope it won’t be overwhelming.
April 22, 2017 at 8:27 pm #23506Fun topic! My next trip will be a daddy/daughter trip for her birthday! We’ll be there from 10/24 to 10/29, just us two. We only have two ADR’s planned, but for us and that it’s a shorter trip, that’s plenty: Be Our Guest for a lunch and Crystal Palace for a late breakfast on her birthday, which is 10/27. I absolutely cannot wait to be there, just us two! If we’re lucky, Walt Disney World will still be standing when we leave!

That’s a great time to go! Are you planning on going to the Halloween Party? I did that for the first time last year. It was fun but it wasn’t as good as the Christmas party IMO….but I’m much more of a Christmas girl.
April 23, 2017 at 7:08 am #23527Thanks! We aren’t going to do MNSSHP this time. My wife and I went last year just before our cruise but she’s never been and she promised her husband she wouldn’t go without him. They’ll probably go in a couple years after he finishes his degree and we’ll probably go again with them.

I love the f&w festival and that’s the time of year I usually go but this year I’m trying to avoid it. The last day of it is on the Monday that I was planning on being there but I changed my plans to start with Universal just to avoid any crowds at Epcot. I’m bending over backward this trip since there are 7 of us. Trying to make it as easy as possible. I even booked a throw away campsite so I can get the 60 day window to book our fp’s. I’ve never done that before but I saw talk of it on another board and thought, why not?
April 23, 2017 at 10:51 am #23552Our next trip will be Oct. 8-15. Looking forward to attending MNSSHP again!
April 23, 2017 at 10:55 am #23556AnonymousInactiveXPWe’ll be back at WDW in June 2018, we were last there in 2014!
