Hi everyone just wanted to share this pre trip report it will take a while as we are going in 2 and 1/2 years. Why you ask, well me last child will be in the final year of high school and it is a trip I promised her. We are very excited to see all then new thing our last trip was in 2014. Here lies my problem my wife worked a time for Disney world and said she hated it because of the low pay but that aside she has conceded to this trip but no more. So as you can see I am happy to be going but so sad it will be the last one I guess at 52 it comes that way but I do have a hard time facing facts. I am a supporter of this site to help my physique and enjoy some great music (thanks Steve). well enough talk for now if you have or are in the same position as me I would love to hear from you.

April 26, 2019 at 6:06 am #108430Terry, I am so sorry that this looks like your last trip.
I hope that can change in the future for you. I’m 53 and have no intentions of stopping anytime soon! In fact, I hope to be going for at least another 30 years, maybe more. I really hope you can convince your wife to take another trip or couple in the future.
April 26, 2019 at 7:17 am #108435So sorry to hear sad news like this and hopefully this will change in the future and you both will go back. I could go every year if it were up to me, however I have to compromise with my better half and vacation in other places. While I do enjoy the change and visiting other places, I do miss Disney when we take a year off and do not go.
April 26, 2019 at 8:02 am #108450I dont want to sound crass Terry, but who says she has to go? I went alone. JMHO, just because she doesnt want to go and enjoy doesnt mean you and your daughter cannot go and enjoy in the future.
April 26, 2019 at 8:05 am #108452^^ You said what I was thinking!!
April 26, 2019 at 8:12 am #108454I also agree with our gents above. I can speak from personal experience that daddy/daughter trips are the best!

have to agree! even if your daughter doesn’t want to go, you can go solo too! i took my first solo trip in march and i loved it so much i’m going again in may! i was like you and had no one to go with, so i decided why wait for someone to come with me when i’m more than capable of going by myself?
April 26, 2019 at 8:56 am #108460Oh my goodness, I am turning 50 this year and plan on never stopping my trips…my 72 and 75 year old parents are on their way next weekend. Don’t ever let age be a factor. Now as far as not traveling with the children or your wife….I am willing to be that in a few years your children will all want to go again
and several years back my hubby declared that he was “over Disney”, so for many trips it was just me and my sis (thank goodness he has changed his mind and loves it again). I even tried a solo few days one time and just loved the freedom. i bet you can always find someone who will be ready to go with you when you are ready for your next trip…don’t get downhearted! I bet there will be plenty of D-cot meet-ups in the future years you could go to and know you will have many pals there when you do!

I agree! Daddy daughter trips would be fun! Even a solo trip would work if you can’t swing anything else. Whenever my husband says he doesn’t want to go, I say okay I’ll take a solo trip and he changes his tune, “That’s not fair! I want to go!”

True!
I didn’t think of this! Great point!
April 26, 2019 at 1:14 pm #108504Thanks everyone, I hope to change this but for now it is like I not going anymore we have went enough and we need to go other places. My daughter loves Disney but being 15 right now it is hard for her because I don’t have the energy I had before and she is one open to close ride all the time. She even skips the parades to rids says shorter lines lol.

Might I suggest getting a mobile chair? I am 58 and I could not do the parks without one. So worth it. This will allow you the energy to keep up.
