Wowza! I can relate a bit to your food allergy because about a year ago we finally sent my middle daughter for testing and low and behold, gluten allergy! Well, that explained a lot
Glad you’re feeling better. It’s not easy, but it’s worth all the hard work and fresh baked bread sacrifice
July 23, 2020 at 10:03 pm #137732@missingwdw Yep! And I don’t think I would even feel weird about licking the walls!
July 23, 2020 at 10:04 pm #137733@sarahjoe37 I shouldn’t eat gluten either. But bread is delicious! It just doesn’t love me back! I would be super distracted!
July 25, 2020 at 11:07 am #137777I was really looking forward to doing my next guided run this morning. It was a speed run, which I’ve never done before, so I was excited
But, I instead chose to redo the last run I did. It was a recovery run, which I decided was a better choice since I’m still recovering from happy hour last night
Slept late, had 2 cups of coffee in me, and ran in the heat and humidity. It wasn’t pretty, but it’s done.
July 25, 2020 at 11:13 am #137778@missingwdw good job! And smart thinking knowing what you could handle and not. Know your body, trust your body. Great job getting it done!
July 25, 2020 at 11:50 am #137780Thanks @nascfan!
July 31, 2020 at 10:30 am #138114Did the speed run a couple days ago. Loved it. Never did one before. Runners out there, how often should you do those? Felt good to be working on something other than just getting my distance in.
Tried a 3 mile run this morning. Meh. Ran about 1:30 slower than what I used to. I have a looooong way to go. But, I used the Nike app and set the distance for my run. I thought it would stop the run once I hit the 3 miles. It said something like, Congratulations! You completed your goal, and then gave me stats of time distance pace. So I started walking home. When I got to my door and stopped on my porch to open it, I hear, “Workout paused. “
WHAT????
It never ended the workout! So all that cool-down walking was figured into my run. Ugh.
Is there an app out there that counts down as you approach your distance or ends the run without you having to manually do it? I wear my phone on my arm. I don’t have a watch to do all that. I just want to be able to hit my distance, end my run, and have the app stop the clock.
Anyone know of anything like that?August 5, 2020 at 9:01 pm #138572Going to sign up for the Star Wars Races tomorrow!!! Hope all of you who were planning to go can get a spot in the races too! Hope they don’t cancel it and we can all see each other!!!
August 5, 2020 at 9:45 pm #138575@rocketear99 what ones are you doing? We’re shooting for the 5k. I’m doubtful they’ll be run but going to register anyway. Good luck to all trying to register!
August 6, 2020 at 9:46 am #138580@Nascfan I understand registration opens for passholders today at 10:00AM ET, so I’m going to try then. I’m going for the gusto! 5K and the Kessel Run Challenge. I wants all the medals!!!
August 6, 2020 at 10:25 am #138583@rocketear99 Kathy and I are in for the 5k! Heather and Ryan are in for the Half!
August 6, 2020 at 10:27 am #138584@rocketear99 So is that 3/4 of a Dopey?
August 6, 2020 at 10:31 am #138585Tammy & I just got in for the 5k & 10k!!!
August 6, 2020 at 10:40 am #138587We’re in for the 5K and the Kessel Run Challenge!!!
@starbee In a sense, yeah it’s 3/4 of a Dopey It’s a 5K (as a separate registration), a 10K, a 1/2 Marathon, and a Virtual 1/2 Marathon (all for the Kessel Run). The virtual 1/2 Marathon we’ll get just by virtue of training for the actual 1/2 Marathon, so why not?
@nascfan Sounds great! I REALLY hope this craziness doesn’t keep us from meeting up at Disney in April. That would just be nuts! -
