@nascfan while not a runner I am hopeful we can at least run and walk it quickly!!! please keep reminding me!!!!! being there and meeting everyone and then cheering the other races sounds so fun and uplifting!
March 4, 2020 at 11:00 am #126563@warrsm believe me, there is nothing “runner” about us! And my wife wants to take it easy anyway so you’ll have very good company! No sweepers in the 5k! It’s so much fun! On both sides of the ropes!
March 5, 2020 at 9:51 am #126605@rocketear99 You’ve still got it! way to get back out there! I am still enjoying some time off while the weather is iffy. I should be picking it back up soon once the clocks change and I have more daylight. Our weather is also starting to get better so I’m hoping it stays that way!
@kcboston I’m sorry you’re having issues but it sounds like you’re doing what you need to do to get it fixed which is great! Don’t ignore it for sure. I had hip problems when running before I went to basic training. Chiro fixed me right up! I’m hopeful you’ll recover tooMarch 5, 2020 at 9:51 am #126606@warrsm If you’re doing the 5K you can walk the entire thing no problem!
March 5, 2020 at 9:53 am #126607I am definitely out for Star Wars 2021. I’m taking a trip to Israel with my parents this fall so that means no vacation of any kind in 2021. I’m also having to give up my annual pilgrimage to Halloween Horror Nights this year and those that know me understand what a sacrifice that is

March 5, 2020 at 12:07 pm #126621I saw all the AP’s who tried to get Wine and Dine race registrations today and it was sold out fast ! I’m super nervous about it selling out when it goes on sale to the general public
March 5, 2020 at 12:10 pm #126622I’m pretty sure @breesmommy5 did two in a row like that last year. If I recall correctly she didn’t realize they were so close together when she signed up. I think there was one in the evening and the second the following morning
Yes I did do that I walked 1/2 of them and jogged the rest, luckily they didn’t have much of a strict pace requirement so that helped !!

@breesmommy5 me too! We’ll have our panic attack together ok?March 19, 2020 at 12:48 pm #127241Well, tis the season for running is it not? I mean even if events are getting cancelled, training goes on! I got a good 5K’s worth on Monday. It was a struggle, but given my recent lull since Dopey, I was quite pleased with my pace. Wednesday I had intended to go the same distance, but it got cut short for multiple reasons (1) I got a late start (2) I forgot to bring my water (3) My knees were having mild discomfort (4) Most importantly: The neighbor’s friendly black labrador retriever (named Fisher) was loose on their property and came to our property to greet me He wanted to follow me home, but even though he is adorable, I had to get him to his house. So I found a ball and tossed it for him (and he brought it back) several times until we reached his yard, and I closed the gate. Apparently nobody was home and he got out. He would’ve stayed home if I hadn’t gone running by.

March 25, 2020 at 8:28 am #127614I’mmmmmmmm baaaaaaaaaaccck!
Hello friends!
This teaching from home thing is the worst, for so many reasons. But the worst part, on a personal level, is how much less I’m moving during the day. Most days I would clock over 20K steps just at work alone. Then add in my runs, and just general moving around outside of work, I would cover a lot of ground in one day!
Now I’m sitting. And emailing. And typing crap up. A lot. This is not how a PE teacher is supposed to be spending her days
I’m trying to do better this week with forcing myself to get up and move for a bit here and there, but it’s not the same.
And now let’s add to that the fact that we’re on stay at home orders, and I’m around food 24/7. Not good people. Not good at all. By the time this is over I’ll be rolling back to school
On the up side, since I am working from home, my 5am runs have turned into lunchtime runs.
Ahhhhh, sleeping in is a beautiful thing
March 25, 2020 at 9:50 am #127621@missingWDW Nice to see you again! I think we’ll all be rolling back to work when we’re done with this! My wife is in the same boat you are. Normally teaching (art), but now stuck at home. As for me, well, I can still go to work, but I’m part of the 1/3 of my coworkers that aren’t teleworking yet.
Ah sweet sleep is great before a run. Hope you’re able to keep at those lunchtime runs!
