@starbee Thanks! It just makes the process faster. It’s good for me and the security guards.
I forgot to say I also have Tylenol,Tums, motion sickness pills, gum, cash, and my wallet in my bag.
January 15, 2018 at 1:39 pm #62948@starbee thank you! There are some things listed that I hadn’t thought of!
@bpellinen that is a great idea about the screenshots!!January 15, 2018 at 1:49 pm #62949These are all great ideas! Thanks, y’all!
January 15, 2018 at 2:33 pm #62951I found a good trick to use last time we were at Disney regarding the FP’s and Dining reservations. I would take a screen shot of them in the MDE app every morning, and then set that as my phone’s lock screen. That way I didn’t have to keep track of a piece of paper, and I didn’t have to keep opening the app. I saved a lot of battery for my phone that way, because I could keep it on airplane mode, but still see the plans for the day.
That is a great idea!! I always take screen shots of my MDE plans just because you never know when the app is going to crash. But I never thought of making them my lock screen every day! That’s fantastic!! I’m definitely going to have to do that on my next trip. I also always print my MDE plans out, just in case. Better to be safe than sorry!!
I take a pretty small bag into the parks, so I don’t carry a whole lot. But this is what’s always in it:
– Lip balm
– A small bottle with all different medicines, just in case
– A small, handled comb and extra hair ties because my hair is perpetually in a ponytail
– Band-aids
– Annual Pass, DVC member card, driver’s license, credit card, cash, and gift cards stashed in a little interior pocket
– Eye drops (which were a life saver when one of my contacts popped out in AK during a trip a few years ago)
– Gum
– A small pack of Kleenex
– Sunglasses
– A carabiner clip that has an attachment that clips onto a bottle of water, and I clip that around the strap of my bag
– Hand sanitizer that’s also clipped around the strap of my bag for quick, easy, and frequent access, and
– A back-up bottle of hand sanitizer inside my bag, ’cause I’m not trying to run out of that in WDW!January 15, 2018 at 2:47 pm #62952AnonymousInactiveXPJanuary 15, 2018 at 2:50 pm #62954Put your rain jackets in a plastic bag like you get from the grocery store or something. That way when you take that wet jacket off, you can put it in the bag in your backpack so that everything doesn’t get wet in your backpack.
Also, I always bring some lens cloths for my glasses/sun glasses. Water ride splashes on the lens and you have spots on them the rest of the day!
January 15, 2018 at 2:55 pm #62956@hcw929 You can always do what the others said and take screenshots instead of having a piece of paper, but I try to use my phone as little as possible when I’m at WDW which is why I write them out. The Ziplocs come in really handy! I put my Fitbit in there too on water rides
January 15, 2018 at 6:02 pm #62991These all sound like great items! Here’s my list:
Phone
Video Camera
My soon to be usable GoPro
Portable charger
Refillable water bottle
Wallet
Umbrella
Pins and lanyard
Autograph book (never know who you might see!)
Hidden Mickey Guide Book
One Allergy-friendly mealJanuary 16, 2018 at 10:05 am #63055oh yes, i forgot about the lanyard! and i also do have eye drops and plastic bags – usually quart sized baggies for phone, wet poncho, etc
January 16, 2018 at 3:06 pm #63110My park bag contains:
Lipgloss
Cell Phone portable charger… I bought one that can charge a cell phone for 3 full charges
Hand Sanitizer
Rain Jacket … its a North Face that rolls up into a tiny little square!
Wallet with ID, Credit Card, and Cash
Gum
Sunglasses
Bandaids
Tylenol !!!!!January 16, 2018 at 3:58 pm #63123First, I just carry a draw-string bag. I find having all those pockets to search through really slows you down at the check points. Within my bag are usually:
2 Ponchos (for me and my wife) if rain is possible
1 Refillable water bottle (insulated so it keeps water cold for hours)
1 frozen water bottle (that’s as in iced, not as in the movie)
Sunglasses
My wife’s motion sickness meds & wrist bands
Advil
Digital Camera in a case (because we don’t have smart phones)Sometimes my wife will carry a second draw string bag with our hoodies in it if the weather is supposed to be cooler.
That’s it! “Travel Light” is the name of our game.
