Thanks Starbee! Fantasmic Dining may be a very good option for us. I’ll be sure to look into that as our booking window draws closer.
If Epcot began Food & Wine in time for our trip that would be AMAZING and would totally eat around the world rather than book a restaurant, unfortunately according to Disney, it’s not starting til after our trip. It will begin Aug 31
I have been to Olivia’s twice! It is quite a hidden gem if you ask me. Great food and laid back most of the time. I do want to check out Jock Lindsey’s. My last trip was cut drastically short due to Hurricane Matthew so we never go to Disney Springs at all
December 20, 2016 at 3:16 pm #4404You’re welcome!
Darn, so sorry about F&W and for getting your hopes up! I’m so glad you like Olivia’s! It’s one of my favorites too, especially for breakfast. They gave my husband and I some great pixie dust on our honeymoon! Oh no! So sorry about your last trip!
December 31, 2016 at 2:47 pm #4934Seems you have had many great suggestions. I would throw Garden Grill into the mix. Yes, it is character dining, but the food is great and the fact that the restaurant rotates through LWtL is awesome. We also have always enjoyed Coral Reef at Epcot.
Always a fan of Boma. Kona Cafe is a lock for breakfast. I know it is a signature, but Artist Point is excellent, and worth the consideration as well.
January 1, 2017 at 10:19 am #4966Yes I agree on Garden Grill! The characters are fun, but you can get as into that as you want. Characters aside, the food is delicious, it’s all you can eat, and you can’t dine in an atmosphere like that anywhere else. I love rotating through the different scenes of Living with the Land!
February 21, 2017 at 3:45 pm #14671I LOVE Be Our Guest! And Via Napoli!
February 21, 2017 at 4:09 pm #14676So, some of you may have caught my status update on this last week, but just in case you didn’t, here’s what we decided and successfully reserved:
Breakfast at Boma: Flavors of Africa
Lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby w/ Fantasmic! Dinner Package
Lunch at Be Our Guest
Dinner at Garden Grill
Lunch at Sanaa
Breakfast at Kona CafeThanks so much for all of your recommendations and suggestions! The Fantasmic! Dinner Package in particular was not even on my radar until I read the suggestion on this thread. We gave our first timer some information on various options in a couple of cases where the decision was tough and she helped us pick Garden Grill and the Brown Derby. Looking forward to our trip now. Wish it wasn’t so far out, but thankfully when I’m not there, I can be here!
February 26, 2017 at 2:16 pm #15346From what it sounds, you are going to be right on top of one of the ‘new’ great ones….. Tiffins in the AK.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/animal-kingdom/tiffins/And the selection in Disney Springs is amazing. I would go with the Boat House and The Edison, not to mention Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar.
Here is a great Disney Mom’s panel entry that talks about the new restaurants:

HS- Prime Time- great home style food
EPCOT- Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Le Patisserie
Beach Club- Cape May Clam Bake (all you can eat seafood buffet)
Yacht Club- Captain’s Grille
Poly- Kona Cafe
Wilderness Lodge- Whispering Canyon (a lot of fun and good food)
Animal Kingdom Kidani Village- Sanaai (outside walls are windows to view the savannah)
Disney Springs- Homecoming Florida Kitchen (GREAT food!) Wolfgang Puck’sApril 22, 2017 at 8:27 am #23414I would skip BoG for lunch. If you can get dinner there it’s great, but lunch is a bit lack luster. I would also chose 50’s prime time over Sci-Fi just for the food quality. Both are very unique but I’ve never had a good meal at Sci fi. At Epcot I might shoot for a late dinner at Rose N Crown for hopes of a seat by the water for an Illuminations viewing. If you’re looking for neat atmosphere go for San Angel Inn, it’s my favorite atmosphere in the parks. I would try for Ohana on your arrival night. Everyone loves Ohana! Since you’re staying at AKL, Boma for breakfast is a must do for the french toast bread pudding alone! Geesh…now I want to go! lol
