When I’m looking at construction maps of the new Star Wars area at DisneyWorld, it looks like Muppetvision is between the new area and Star Tours. It seems that leaves it in an undesirable spot. Has anyone heard if it’s closing? I was just thinking it would be amazing to re-theme it to Pigs In Space.

I haven’t heard anything but with the mini re-vamp over there with PizzeRizzo and Baseline Tap House, I highly doubt it’s going anywhere anytime soon

Since Disney owns both franchises…. why not a Star Wars spoof with the muppets…. I think you are onto something
April 27, 2019 at 10:25 am #108540i was about to say that i personally think muppet vision 3D’s days are numbered because pizzerizzo doesn’t open anymore, but after a quick google search, it’s opening back up in may! it’ll still be seasonal though, but that should give us muppets fans some hope!
April 27, 2019 at 8:53 pm #108568I never want Muppets to leave. It’s my favorite attraction in the park and it is always functioning properly. I always feel like it’s going to go, especially since PizzeRizzo is seasonal and the hours for Muppet Vision have been reduced. But probably not for a while since, as stated above, they practically re-did the entire area. And another thing I’ve noticed is that every time I go see it (every two-ish months), the theater is packed!
You may be onto something with that Pigs in Space thing. Disney has made Muppet Star Wars action figures and even the original concept for Muppet land included the Great Muppet Movie Ride, which would’ve been the Great Movie Ride but with the Muppets. A Muppet spoof would be pretty awesome to have of a ride

If we want to get technical, Jim Henson Productions did because Jim Henson…dropped the ball…on his life…

I would definitely be sad to see it go, unless it meant they finally moved forward with a more expansive Muppet’s Courtyard (an updated MuppetVision 3D + a ride + a food location?) somewhere else in Hollywood Studios. Outside of merchandise, the Muppets have been pretty under-represented in WDW for years (Great Moments in American History is a fun addition, but definitely doesn’t feel permanent.
April 29, 2019 at 8:49 pm #108815To clarify, I would hate to see it go. I don’t believe they would close it until there are more open attractions in that area. But it seems possible as it would be a break in continuity of the Star Wars theme that is happening in that section.

I already think there would be a break in continuity even if they scrapped Muppets. Star Tours is themed to Endor and Black Spire is a whole new planet. They could turn Muppets into something Star Wars but it still would be different to each Star Wars area either side of it
April 30, 2019 at 9:47 am #108989@starbee yeah, i know SW is awesome and all…but we don’t want a SW only park! Muppets is great for us parents who remember it from our childhood! my kids roll their eyes at me but i love the stinkin Muppets. (have i said lately how annoyed i am that The Muppets. never came out on DVD??)

They could re-re-theme Star Tours as an in-universe transportation service to Blakc Spire Outpost.
April 30, 2019 at 10:23 am #108997@jamiedawn27 I’m with you, I don’t want Star Wars to extend past Black Spire Outpost/Galaxy’s Edge
May 7, 2019 at 5:25 pm #109642There has been a lot of speculation that, since Star Tours area isn’t in scale with Galaxy’s Edge and since ST isn’t considered “canon” and GE will be, that ST would eventually go away. Heck, the DL Star Tours is on the complete other side of the park (Tomorrowland).
