Temps in the summer are HOOOOOOT. So tank tops and shorts.
I LOVE the shells one and the buzz/woody ones!
I wonder if it鈥檚 like Florida hot? Probably not as humid?
Definitely not as humid but hot. And a lot of the lines are outside and uncovered (especially if the queues get really long)
January 16, 2018 at 2:43 pm #63107@stupidjudy @bexruns Is it crazy hot in November??????
Not crazy hot, no. Maybe shorts during the day but definitely sweatshirts at night. When we went in Nov I was wearing shorts/tshirt.

Last time I was there I went in June and believe it or not it was hot but not unbearable hot like Florida. I remember being fascinated that when you got hot in California, all you had to do was move into the shade and it was a good 10 degrees cooler. It felt almost cold in the shade! I kept thinking, “heh! THIS is what shade is supposed to do!” It’s the little things peeps.
February 7, 2018 at 6:42 am #65456I hope you’re not disappointed with your first visit due to the crazy amount of construction they have going on literally everywhere. I know on my last visit about 4 years ago, I was sad at how the park seemed to be in need of a complete overhaul and soooo many things were broken down. I thought they just needed to shut down completely for about 2 years and fix this park to bring it back to it’s former glory. It’s a small park and with that many walls up for construction can make it feel a bit like a rat in a maze sometimes. Here’s hoping that by the time you get there the majority of the construction will be done and you can get a true vision of Walt’s Park! It’s my favorite but my friend didn’t like it very much compared to MK. It was my first park so of course I compared MK to DLR and MK to me feels like a big commercial version of DL and that the rides are all skimpy replicas of the real thing at DL. DL just has so much more charm IMO. Go in with the idea of “charming story book land” and the park that started it all. What I love most is how they have beautiful trees in the parks and it feels more like a garden and not just a big slab of pavement. It’s simply quaint and it feels like home to me!

May 24, 2018 at 2:17 pm #77111It’s been a while since I’ve updated this pre trip planning thread. Well, that’s probably because we’ve been so busy with everything in life including me getting a new job which I start in 3 weeks!
Today I called Disneyland travel and talked with Shawn (suuuuuuper helpful!!!) about changing our hotel from Paradise Pier to a Good Neighbor hotel. I’ve also been chatting with @bexruns and got some good advice from her. @cammelot and I are loyal Hilton members, so we changed our reservation to stay at the Hilton Anaheim which is really high end, but LITERALLY more than half the cost of the Paradise Pier. It’s about 1/4 the price of the Disneyland Hotel… And probably nicer ! Everyone I’ve spoken with says the same thing, that there’s really not a benefit to staying at a Disneland Hotel. We shall see.
May 24, 2018 at 2:34 pm #77115Wow! Congratulations! That is awesome news!
May 24, 2018 at 2:50 pm #77118Today I also upgraded our park passes to 5 day park hoppers and also added Max Pass for all 5 days which includes unlimited fast passes and photo passes. I’m not sure how all this works yet, but I’m ready to jump right in and learn !!!!

May 24, 2018 at 6:29 pm #77128Congrats on the new job!!! I think your plan sounds perfect! Great way to save some extra money too! You will still be so close to the parks at the Hilton. My sister and I stayed there many many years ago for just one night. It was nice! They have a Starbucks in the lobby! You can simply walk down Harbor to the old Main Gate entrance. It’s maybe a 15 minute walk. I can’t wait to hear about Max Pass and such! That’s all new to me, so unfortunately I don’t have any advice. But it’s awesome that you get all your photos!
May 25, 2018 at 10:08 am #77164@eeyorepoohfan The Maxpass sounds pretty awesome! It cost $10 per person, per day… so for the 3 of us it costs $30 per day… and $150.00 for 5 days… not bad! The Hilton looks really nice online, and its rated as the #2 Disneyland hotel on Trip Advisor!!!!!
May 25, 2018 at 11:00 am #77169That really isn’t bad for all that! I haven’t checked the price in Memory Maker at WDW in a long while since we get our pics included with our AP’s, but I know it was pretty expensive. So I think you are getting a great deal! Yes, it has a high ranking! They were still finishing updates when we were there. And I’m sure they’ve already done updates again since we were there last! But the room was nice and comfy!
