Has anyone on D-Cot been to a Christmas Party at Disney before? :santa:
if so, did you like it? Would you do it again?
Do you think that its worth the money? Its seems really expensive to me…
Tell me all about it! :santa:
October 30, 2017 at 11:43 am #53862I’ve been to the Christmas party several times. It’s become a tradition for our Thanksgiving trips! It is kind of pricey, but I think it’s definitely worth the money to do at least once! I really love it, mostly because of the festive atmosphere and the fact that the park is a LOT less crowded because of the limited number of tickets they sell for the party. We’ve always been able to just walk onto most of the rides, with minimal waits for the big ones like Space Mountain and 7DMT. The fireworks are amazing and the parade is SO fun (the life-sized toy soldiers are my favorite part! ) You can get all the cookies and hot chocolate you want from different stations throughout the park, and each station features a different kind of cookie. One of my favorite parts about the party, though, is the snow on Main Street!! (Ok, it’s not REAL snow , but it is just so cool and Christmas-y).
October 30, 2017 at 12:31 pm #53865We have done the party a few times, it’s soooo much fun! I think it’s worth doing at least once, you can enter the park before 7pm, I think around 4 they let the party goers in? That might have changed but that’s what it used to be! We would wear scarves and santa hats, gloves, those Christmas light necklaces etc. The last time I went we were there for my friend Megan’s bachelorette party, we wore matching shirts that said “have yourselves a married lil’ Christmas” and Bridesmaid on the back, oh and tutus. I think I had reindeer ears and antlers too!
The atmosphere is magical with snow on Main Street like @laprana mentioned, I don’t remember watching the parade, probably too busy running up and down the Space Mountain ramps but the fireworks are AMAZING! The cookies and hot chocolate stations are fun! I love visiting at that time of year! I would definitely do it again.
October 30, 2017 at 12:48 pm #53866MVMCP is on my bucket list.
We were there once in December but didn’t go. Big regret. I would to go one year!October 30, 2017 at 12:59 pm #53867In the past, whenever we did a party (either MNSSHP or MVMCP) we wouldn’t do a park that day, we’d swim and relax at the resort and just show up as early as they’d let us in for the party, this way you save a little bit that day since you don’t have a park ticket. That’s how I justified the extra cost!
October 30, 2017 at 1:18 pm #53868@StupidJudy, that’s a great point! They do let you into the park with a party ticket starting at 4:00, so not buying a park ticket that day might help save a little bit! You’re given a wrist band when you go through the turnstiles, so right at 7:00 they start scooting anyone without a wrist band out of the park. It’s pretty amazing how quickly they clear it out!
October 30, 2017 at 2:01 pm #53889The one that I can’t justify is the after hours party, I think that one you need a park ticket in order to attend the party? That’s an expensive one!
October 31, 2017 at 6:46 pm #53983Did the MVMCP once…. check the weather first before buying tickets… it rained on us the time we went… needless to say that sucked.
I prefer MNSSHP instead. Just my opinion.
November 2, 2017 at 8:07 am #54118I’ve done several parties and will be at the one on the 14th of November this year! I usually use my party day as my day at MK for the whole trip since you get in at 4 and for less than a regular ticket you get a full 8 hours in the park. Although, the price of the ticket is now costing almost as much as a regular ticket so it’s starting to be not worth the pricetag and the crowds have been MUCH heavier than the first party I attended. As usually Disney ups the price and gets rid of the perks. The first time I went it felt like we had rented out the park and they had all sorts of extras like Christmas themed hopscotch areas laid out for the kids everywhere etc… I swear it seems like whenever I finally catch on to something cool, EVERYONE catches on and then it becomes not so cool anymore.
November 3, 2017 at 2:47 pm #54254MVMCP was one of my favorite nights I’ve had at WDW. MNSSHP I think is a better over all event, trick of treating, parade, hallow-wishes, themeing I’d more excited to MVMCP again. However w/ my current job I don’t think if I’ll ever get to do that again, short of spending $$ to fly down for like a day to do it. There is something just magical about Christmas time at WDW.
November 9, 2017 at 8:04 am #54740Eeeeek! They finally have released the list of a bunch of the TREATS that will be at MVMCP… and there are a LOT of them that are Gluten Friendly!
