This makes me sad. I know that “a bugs land” is a place that a lot of people take their little kids because literally every ride over there is geared towards the littler ones.
Also, I LOVE HEIMLICHS CHEW CHEW TRAIN.

Avengers and Other Super Heroes to Assemble in New Themed Areas at Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland

I’ve never been to A Bug’s Land but this still makes me sad. Like you said, it’s great to have an area for little ones but also, as much as I love Marvel, not everyone does. I think there needs to be a good balance of variety at the Disney Parks or they will only appeal to certain tastes and alienate a good portion of park goers.

I’m fine with Marvel in the parks. I’m totally fine. But DCA is in a state of construction and doesn’t need more. It’ll quickly turn into a half day park like the Studios did.

Now if you excuse me, I must go sit in the corner and mourn my favorite childhood rides :(

That’s a good point. I personally think Disney bit off way more than they could chew there and Studios is currently a mess. I don’t think they needed to do it in that way, and close everything 2 years before construction started, but that’s another story ;)

I’m sorry to see this. It’s too bad they are taking such a neat area away. I’m sorry Becky. :(
I think Starbee said it great up there, stop trying to put all your eggs in one basket Disney.

With so much of DCA closed down right now and in a state of flux and then Star Wars Land opening next year its going to shove everyone into DL and it’s going to be a madhouse. And Bugs Land is SMALL. It really isn’t that big. So what, one or 2 rides go in there? Maybe?

And @SEJ101 I heard a rumor that they’re taking Fliks Flyers and putting it where Maliboomer was but re-theming it to Inside Out since that’s what “neighborhood” is over there. Just. Ugh I don’t know. A Bugs Life is Pixar. Why not take some of those rides and just move them? I’m TOTALLY ok with that. But Bugs Land is still always busy with families. Now everyone who fits in the “family with little kids” demo is going to get shoved right back into DL because theres only 2 other rides in all of DCA they can go on (Mermaid and Monsters).

I have a pretty good feeling that eventually they’ll take Hollywood Land and make it a phase 2 of Marvel Land after they convert A Bug’s Land. You can see Mission Breakout going down the street, and considering how much Disney loves their theming, it would look odd to walk through Hollywood Land and as soon as you walk toward the end of the street there’s just Marvel everywhere. I just don’t see Bugs Land providing the space that Disney wants. There’s been rumors for a while now that the Monsters Inc ride was going to be pushed out soon, so I wonder if Marvel will be the one that kicks it out.

Yep, this appears to be the plan. You can see it in the concept art.

That would totally make sense. I just wish it wouldn’t push Monsters out completely. It’s a very busy ride ALL THE TIME. Very rarely after 12/1pm does that ride have a line shorter than 20 min.

Yep. I’m still now sure how I feel about this though. The only reason I went to Bugs Land was for :heimlich: or to cut through to get to Cars Land.I do have plenty of friends who have smaller kids who LOVED BL though for them it makes me sad.

@acamm it definitely had its appeal on the adorable side but was mostly for smaller kids. Or me and Stephen.

My brother is using pictures of the walls to toy with my emotions and adding very helpful captions like, “It wasn’t even that good.” :(
