I’m going to be taking my niece to WDW for her first visit, the week before she turns 3. I know under 3 eats free, but how exactly does that work? At the counter service places I just order her kids meal and tell them that she’s 2? Is there a limit to what she can have? Special menus? Is it just at the table service places? I’ve never done this before. Any help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
May 15, 2017 at 10:17 am #27244It applies mostly to places that are buffet or family style, where they do not get charged for their own plate. If you go to a QS restaurant or to a table service restaurant and order something for them off the menu, then you are charged for it. If you are doing the Dining Plan, then you don’t have to pay for them to be on it, and they can eat off of anyone’s plate at meals. Hope that helps!

May 16, 2017 at 6:58 am #27483That is so cool that you are taking your niece, you guys will have such a great time! That’s such an amazing age to take a little one, everything is real and magic. It’s so sweet seeing it through the eyes of a child, there’s really nothing like it

I can’t wait! My negative Nancy father keeps saying, “I still think she’s too young.” I want to punch him in the eye every time. Talk about not getting it! :hmmph:
May 19, 2017 at 8:21 pm #28222There is no magical age. As long as the adults know what to expect any age works. Our cousin took their 6 month old along with their 7 year old this past February. Everyone had a great time and they know the 6 month old won’t remember a thing, and that’s okay.
May 19, 2017 at 9:09 pm #28225You’d be amazed what a three year old will remember. we took our twins when they were the same age, and they still remembered things the next time we went three years later. An umbrella stroller might be a wise investment, its small enough to fold and carry when not needed and when moving between parks, but great when the youngster crashes and needs a rest. plus they stick out in a crowd of park strollers.

Yep, I invested in one of those!
May 25, 2017 at 9:55 am #29228Some table service will allow kids under 2 to get a kids meal for free. Just ask. Each place is different.
trattoria al forno character breakfast gave us the same breakfast Meal for our 1 year old as our 5 year olds. Twins were charged and baby wasn’t.
So it just depends.
Quick service is never free under 2. -
