November 20, 2018 at 6:48 pm #95341Hey guys, I just posted this on my page but then was told there was an “Introduce Yourself” thread so I thought I’d just post it here too!
Hey pals! So I’ve just discovered this today and it seems like a super friendly place so I thought I’d introduce myself a little! I’m Emma, from Scotland, currently working in NYC. I am, like all of us I suppose, a complete Disney nerd. One of my bucket list items in life is to visit all of the Disney’s around the world and I’ve only got one left which I never thought would be the case by 28! I first visited Disneyland Paris the year it opened in 1992 at 2 years old and its been my family’s go to holiday nearly every year since. I’ve been around 20 times in the 26 years its been opened and even worked there for a while. I’ve visited Disneyland California once, WDW twice (once with my family about 10 years ago and once for my training for Disney Cruise Line) and in the past 2 years while working in China I was luckily enough to visit Hong Kong Disney twice and Disneyland Shanghai (which is unreal!) once. I’m now gearing up for a really exciting three week vacation to Orlando next summer with my family and I’ll be spending 2 weeks at Disney! Can’t wait! If anyone has any questions fire away! I’m about to try and get acquainted with this site!
November 20, 2018 at 7:09 pm #95342@emmaglinch Welcome to the D-CoT family. We are happy you found us and hope you have as wonderful of an experience here as so many currently do. You have quite a rich Disney parks background and it is exciting that you will have visited all of the Disney realms before the age of 30. Amazing!
November 20, 2018 at 7:44 pm #95343@emmaglinch I know I said it on your page, but welcome! I can’t wait to hear you share about the different parks and your experiences at them! And post pics whenever you have time! I would love to see all the other parks, especially Shanghai! And how awesome that you will get a 3 week vacation to Orlando and 2 of those weeks will be at WDW!!!!
November 20, 2018 at 9:45 pm #95345Thanks for the welcome @ABeach and @eeyorepoohfan!
November 20, 2018 at 10:00 pm #95347@emmaglinch it’s great to have you here! You have a great Disney visitation history! Heather’s right, anytime you feel like sharing pics go ahead! You have a great trip planned for the summer! You are lucky to visit so many while working at different places, which is many! Are you able to share a small bit of what you do? You are well traveled. I’m Scott by the way, and I basically live here so you’ll see me around a lot!
November 20, 2018 at 10:10 pm #95352Hey Scott! I know, I’m very lucky! Of course, I’m a singer/actor/general performer and lots of things related. I studied music and then musical theatre. I’ve done lots of different things over the past few years. I won’t give you a full history because you’d be bored to death but over 2017 and 2018 I spent 7 months in China music directing kids musicals which is what allowed me my Disney trips in HK and Shanghai, I toured Scotland with a Christmas show, I spent the summer in Connecticut teaching voice and I’m now in NYC for a few months performing and doing other bits and pieces, I studied here for a year so I’m back and forth a bit. My work at DLP and DCL was a previous to all this! I’ll get some HK and Shanghai photos up for you soon!
November 20, 2018 at 10:45 pm #95357That is so cool! You have had a fascinating career already!
January 10, 2022 at 4:13 pm #154232Hi. I’m Hilary. I live in Arcadia FL when I am not in school. Otherwise, I live in Fort Myers FL. I am studying Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Florida Gulf Coast University. This past May, I began working with clients for the very first time. It has its ups and downs to be sure, but I do enjoy what I do. I’m not quite as magical as Mickey Mouse, Cinderella‘s fairy godmother, or even the blue fairy, but I do hope that I can help make peoples lives just a bit better.
January 10, 2022 at 4:23 pm #154234@hilaryreed94 Welcome!! What a great and challenging field to go into! And one that’s very much needed!
January 10, 2022 at 8:54 pm #154237That’s wonderful Hilary! What a noble field! Good luck, you’ll do great things for people!
January 11, 2022 at 9:38 am #154238Hi @hilaryreed94 thanks for introducing yourself! I’m Chloe and I’m also studying mental health counseling what area do you plan on working in?
January 11, 2022 at 10:11 am #154239@starbee I’m not sure. I initially wanted to work with children and adolescents. I need to figure out what areas I can most effectively work with considering my blindness.
April 19, 2022 at 7:11 am #156399Re-introducing myself seeing as it’s been so many years since I was active on here!
I’m Alex from Nottingham in the UK. Used to be a semi-regular guest at WDW but have sadly not visited since 2018. Taking our 4th trip to DLP in October which will be the first for our youngest who was born in February.
Currently working on persuading my lovely wife that we need to head back to FL next year but failing that – it’ll be our second Disney Cruise for us!
