Holy Crap is traveling expensive now

Also, just FYI-the Grand Cal out here is…..well expensive doesn’t cover it. Rooms “start at” $450 or so.

I’m not a huge fan of Cali anyway, it’s crazy expensive and the whole state is “Broke”. The fact that room and board is so expensive makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I live 70 miles away and it can take me 3 hours to get to Disneyland. I hate the traffic here.
And finding a hotel near the parks that isn’t insanely expensive is a process. SOME have good rates, but you really…I mean REALLY have to look. It’s crazy for someone like me who has never gone to any other Disney parks other than here and see how expensive our hotels are compared to the hotels at WDW.

But, IF you do come out here and need recommendations for hotels close to the resort-I do have some I stay at that I would recommend to everyone.

It’s right across the street so you aren’t hoofing it too far and not having to wait for a shuttle.
We reserved a room for the beginning of August and it was $150. They also have a rooftop bar (all ages till 10pm) that you can see the fireworks at the parks from if you want to avoid the crowds.

I looked into a trip to DL but with the airfare turns out to be twice as much as flying to Florida, so we’re gonna stick to the east coast for now!

I just looked at airfare to San Diego in October (as far as SWA has out right now) and it was about the same as out flights to MCO… Even more weird, flights to Arizona were double…

I guess the whole point of this is to keep checking, and check multiple airlines/airports in the area… Hopefully you can snag a deal

Our first 7 day WDW trip was in 2008, CAD-USD was good. It pretty much doubled now. Based on that a Muggle would think I should stop going…….but that’s coming from a Muggle, so you know… :mickey:

WDW planning is my favorite but I can book DCL, DLR, Aulani, etc. I just can’t do DVC. ????

There is a meme on Facebook that says “all magic comes with a price dearie” and it’s rumple from Once Upon A Time. I would so lost it here if I knew how! ????
