1) the time we stayed at the Yacht Club – club level; 2) Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House with Sunset Savannah view; 3) Old Key West overlooking a quiet pool 4) Ft. Wilderness Cabins and I honestly loved camping in a tent at Ft. Wilderness too…it was great. 4) Wilderness Lodge—room service breakfast with a fabulous view.
June 29, 2017 at 1:42 pm #36128My first on-property resort stay was at the Polynesian, and it has been my absolute favorite resort ever since! Partly because of nostalgia and partly because it’s just amazing! I’ve also stayed at Riverside, Coronado Springs, the Boardwalk, the Contemporary, Saratoga, Old Key West, Beach Club Villas, Wilderness Lodge, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo and Kidani, and the Grand Floridian Villas. I can honestly say the only one I didn’t absolutely love was Old Key West. And Kidani, the Contemporary, and the Boardwalk are all tied for a very close second favorite!
August 22, 2017 at 11:03 am #45331My overall favorite is the BC. I love being so close to Epcot, the amazing pool, Beaches and Cream, Cape May Cafe. Plus you are still a short distance to all the Boardwalk activities and DHS. I love the smell of the lobby too.
I also love the GF, although I have only stayed there once. BLT is not my favorite decor but you can’t beat the location. Being able to walk to/from the MK is such a plus. Plus it’s a great place to watch the fireworks.
I’ve never stayed at WL but love to visit during Christmas.
I know everyone loves the Poly but we didn’t like it as much. I think because we had done a split stay starting with a 2BR at BC and then having to switch to 2 studios. If Poly had 2BR I’d like it much more.September 10, 2017 at 12:33 pm #48111When I was a little girl, I got to stay in The Polynesian, I was instantly in love. I stay in POP! now, mostly, and it has become my new favorite for the kind of trip I take now. I spend very little time at the hotel! Pop’s theming is crazy and fun, and I love it so much. I’m excited to see the room remodel on one of my next stays.
October 14, 2017 at 7:13 am #52616We are staying at the Poly for the first time early next year, so my answer may change after that… BUT my current favorite is Boardwalk. I am mildly obsessed & have been since I was young. For our last trip, we actually had a Boardwalk view and I thought I would die from happiness! We took the free Saturday morning Boardwalk tour several years ago. It was a real treat! Our tour guide was simply amazing. Being able to walk/take the boat to Epcot & HS is so quick & awesome. Morning walks around Crescent Lake are peaceful & homey, especially for a quick stop at the Boardwalk Bakery for an everything bagel & coffee (not too expensive by Disney standards, believe it or not).
March 19, 2018 at 1:36 pm #70154Polynesian Village has always been my favorite resort since I love the theming of the Poly (couldn’t help but love Aulani and see the similarities). Bay Lake is up on my list as well since the Monorail resorts are just so convenient. As far as the level of theming for a resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge always blows me away. That resort is just incredibly immersive, both Jambo House and Kidani Village. Love them all!
March 20, 2018 at 12:06 am #70216Wilderness Lodge is hands down my favorite. I love staying in the Magic Kingdom area! It’s also great walking out of your room and being able to look down and see the lobby along with the totem poles
May 18, 2018 at 8:24 am #76385I love the Grand Floridian!!! Beautiful resort! My husband still loves POR.
May 18, 2018 at 8:35 am #76386I’ve stayed at several (POR, POFQ, SS, C, CS, AOA) but I have to say my favorite is AoA. I know it’s considered a “Value” but honestly with a family of 5 you can’t go wrong. A bedroom and bath for mom and dad? check. A pull out couch and a murphy bed? check. Another bathroom? check. a mini kitchen with a sink, fridge, microwave and a table to eat at? check.
And that’s not even talking about how fabulous the place looks…the room/resort themes are amazing with lots of detail. The big pool is HUGE and the food court is one of the best in the properties. The shop has FOUR registers where you can trade pins. You can easily walk anywhere. My kids are in heaven…and so am I…in my cozy bedroom with my OWN bath.
May 18, 2018 at 9:44 am #76399Animal Kingdom Lodge/Kidani Village, for the same reasons others have stated. But also the background audio, the nighttime animal viewing with night vision goggles for the kids, the rocking chairs and campfires, and maybe this is strange, for the lanterns outside the Kidani Village entrance.
for all the hype the purple wall has gotten, the best wall in WDW is the wall outside Kidani Village. The lanterns give off this warm, welcoming glow, especially at night, and says “welcome home” about as well as any other place at WDW. here’s a shot from the entrance – the out of focus one was intentional believe it or not, because I wanted to get a dreamlike haze that really goes with how I see the Kidani Village entrance when I think back to the place. and the double exposure part is a shot of the proverb that’s outside the entrance.
May 22, 2018 at 2:30 am #76736I’ve only stayed at All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, and Pop Century
Of the 3 my favorite is Pop. I’m a big nostalgia buff. Add that to being a child of the 90’s and I’m in heaven. I do want to stay at the Poly sometime (budget willing)
May 22, 2018 at 6:57 am #76737We’ve been to WDW many times, and have stayed at a few moderate and value resorts. I have to say that out of all of them, POR has to be my favorite, with FQ and CBR following up. I had a bad experience at Pop Century, and the All Star’s, while decent, are horrible on buses.
