1) Les Chefs de France – I’ve always had great food and awesome service here! My only complaint is that the dining room is a little cramped with the tables very close together…but maybe that’s a French thing?
It’s a French thing
not every restaurant is like that but so many are out on the street or inside a small building that it’s pretty commonI’m all about the atmosphere and experience and less about the food. There is not a cuisine served that I can’t get in my hometown. So I really go for the atmosphere or characters, etc. that I can’t get at home when I am making a decision.
We do one or the other when we choose where to eat. We either pick somewhere that offers food we don’t have easy access to (Moroccan, seafood) or we choose a place with a unique atmosphere like the Garden Grill, Sci-Fi, 50’s Prime Time, etc. sometimes we’re able to incorporate both aspects

not every restaurant is like that but so many are out on the street or inside a small building that it’s pretty commonIn my experience it’s not just a French thing. On my trip to Costa Rica in 2008, almost every restaurant we went to had close seating. The good thing was that some places were open-air so it didn’t feel quite as cramped. Restaurants I went to in Niger would’ve been the same way if there was more patronage, but then Niger has a strong French influence too.

Interesting! I can only speak for France and Italy because that’s all I’ve experienced. But I do know about some of the French influence in African countries from some of my friends who lived in the same city as me but came from former colonies like Morocco, Algeria, Senegal and Tunisia. But now I’m getting off topic
