That’s so cool. What an awesome story.
July 12, 2017 at 11:42 am #38302and I was now facing the Snow White ride. At that moment, the queen opened the curtains and when I saw her……I flipped out. Like flat out refused to go on the ride after that. I actually didn’t go on it until I was about 12 because I was so afraid of the queen/witch.
Something similar happened to our daughter when she was three or four. I don’t know why my DH thought we would like to go on Star Tours for our first attraction :|
July 12, 2017 at 11:44 am #38304my custom made Backside Of Water shirt
That sounds like a really cool shirt! I’m not surprised that you got some special perks!
July 14, 2017 at 10:56 am #38701I was spending a day at Magic Kingdom and stopped in Ariel’s Grotto (A must do on every trip) to meet Ariel in mermaid form. While in the queue I got to talking with a man and his daughter. Turns out they were from my hometown. We were on opposite sides of the switchback so when the line moved we were separated. I enjoyed talking to them so much that I let several people go in front of me. His daughter was admiring my pin collection. Her Dad said they were going to get her a starts pack the next day. I let her pick a pin from my lanyard to honor the moment. She ended up picking one of Dory. In exchange I asked her to spend the best day ever while in the park.
July 14, 2017 at 11:38 am #38739@BacksideOfWater that is so great! I love to spread the magic and love hearing of others doing the same. Nice job!
July 16, 2017 at 2:25 pm #38961So once again I was in the Magic Kingdom in line to meet Mermaid Ariel all decked out in full Disney gear. My trademark sorcerer’s hat, lanyard full of Princess pins, and the shirt I made at the Design-A-Tee shop. She loved the shirt and the pins of her.
Close to park closing time I had an ADR for Cinderella’s Royal Table. In addition to Cinderella, there was Snow White, Aurora, Jasmine, and last but not least Human Ariel .
Upon getting to my table, Ariel pulled out a chair, sat down and asked “Did you come visit me in my Grotto earlier today?”
I was blown away. Out of the hundreds (if not thousands) of people she meets everyday she remembered me. Then again a guy in that hat and shirt would be hard to forget
July 18, 2017 at 4:24 pm #39431It was my second trip to WDW. We decided one day to take the train to Splash Mountain (Splash had been under refurbishment for our entire trip besides the last two days). I had a very small breakfast (because I was a questionable child) and so I asked my mom for a granola bar while waiting for the train on Main Street. Right as I opened that granola bar, the train came. We got on the train and then they said “no eating.” My mom looked at me and said “Hurry up.” So I ate as fast as I could without choking.
So that’s my story on how I ate a granola bar on the WDW Railroad. :p :train:
July 19, 2017 at 7:37 am #39511My oldest DD’s favorite character is Peter Pan. She’s loved him since she was tiny (she’s 18 now). Well on our last trip to the world, she was waiting with my wife somewhere in Fantasyland when Peter came out from backstage. She started fan girling and he noticed her. So he then proceeded to walk up to her, grab her hand and walk all around Fantasyland with her. It was hours before she calmed down.
July 22, 2017 at 9:46 am #40262Once again I was in the Magic Kingdom. This time I stopped by to see Merida. I figured it would be a standard meet and greet. (Hi Merida, chat about her movie, take a picture, move on.) When it is my turn Merida ran at me full speed and basically tackled me. Needless to say I was caught off guard. How I stayed on my feet I don’t know. We did random poses. She LOVED the fact that I saw Brave in the theater 5 times. She saw my Backside Of Water shirt and asked if I rode it yet. I said I’ve been on it 5 times that day. She noticed I like to do things 5 times lol and demanded I go ride it again. I wasn’t about to disobey a royal command. It was my best non Ariel meet and greet ever.
August 24, 2017 at 1:58 pm #45745Here’s a story that can only happen at Disney.
Once again at the Magic Kingdom. It was my 3rd visit to the park. A friend of mine who was a local at the time and I met in the park to spend a few hours together. We were in the queue for Dumbo (This was in 2010 so it was the outdoor queue). A lady with 3 daughters that were all around 8 years old if I had to guess. She was stressing out because all 4 of them would.t fit into one elephant and had no one to do Rider Swap with. My friend and I each said one of the girls could ride with us. To my amazement the mother agreed. I even let the little girl control the up and down. Only at Disney could someone trust 2 random strangers like that.
October 31, 2017 at 8:32 am #53923I LOVE that story!
October 31, 2017 at 8:37 am #53924@Ferg God bless you and your family for having to go through that tragedy. So nice to hear that you still have wonderful memories and are kind enough to share them with us so we can smile too.
October 31, 2017 at 9:00 am #53929Back when I was a boy crazy teenager, my best friend from the 6th grade had flown in to visit me. I lived in San Diego at the time so of course Disneyland was on the agenda. We ended up meeting two boys to hang around with and as your hormones will have it when you’re a teen, of course we were totally attracted to these guys and who cares that we just met them, we were going to have us a make out session! Well we decided that we needed us a dark ride for our make out spot so we hopped on Adventure through Innerspace since it was dark and the added bonus of the clam shell vehicle. (if I had an emoji that tweaked it’s eyebrows I would insert it here lol). Me and my guy get in one car and my bff Carin and her guy get in the car behind us and we proceed to make out with our new found “loves of our lives”. Every once in a while we would lean out and knock on the back of each others cars when the cars would turn just in the right direction….typical annoying teenage stuff. I particularly recall Carin and her guy banging on our clamshell to the point where we were telling them to knock it off! The lines for this ride were always short so needless to say we kept jumping in line over and over so we could continue on with our heavy petting…(boy this is embarrassing to tell and I feel like I’m writing a porn novel :p ) So many years later, I’m married (not to Disneyland guy ) and I’m reading a book called “MouseTales: a behind the ears look at Disneyland”. I get to a chapter about funny cast member stories and damn if they aren’t talking about teenagers that went on Adventure through innerspace to make out THINKING that no one could see them and that the CAST MEMBERS would bang on the back of the clam shell trying to stop the kids from being inappropriate. I almost had a heart attack trying to call my old friend to tell her what I was reading!!! You want to talk about mortified! hahaha! It was as if that entire part of the book had been written because of US! I still don’t know….God I hope not.
