I learned on our last trip after waiting an hour to get my purse looked through security I stopped taking my purse and just put things I needed in my pockets, it was a little uncomfortable having my pockets full from the kids stuff but at least we walked right in

Yeah, my wife will leave her purse in the car and just load up the necessary ID and credit cards… no more!

One thing that’s not really a hack, but something that a lot of people don’t do in the age of the all powerful Magic Band, I always bring cash and a credit card with me to the parks. I’m not sure if this is still the case, but there are some vendors, like the Silhouette artist on Main Street, that don’t accept Magic Bands. We’ve also had the misfortune of being in the parks on a day that the Magic Band system went down, so you were only able to pay for things with cash or credit. There were a lot of unhappy people that day, because they didn’t bring any other forms of payment

Yeah I downsize to a “mini-wallet” for the parks. My wallet has a removeable card holder that is big enough for 4 cards. In it I carry my ID, credit card, DVC card, and Disney Visa Reward Redemption card.

For whatever reason on our honeymoon (2 weeks after resort wide rollout of My Disney Experience and MagicBands) ours just would not work. We went to Guest Services more times than we can count because our bands just wouldn’t work as our park tickets, or for charging and no one knew why and they could never fix it. All it would do was unlock our room. We had to take credit cards with us everywhere. My brother’s on the same trip stopped working 3 days into the trip. They replaced his entire band (because his wouldn’t even unlock his room) and then everything started working again, but it was lucky he still had cards with him the day that happened.

@starbee We had a similar, though far less extensive issue with our bands when they had just started using them. Ironically everything in the parks worked fine for us and if it didn’t, it wasn’t working for anyone else either. But when we stayed at OKW none of our bands would unlock the room, and as luck would have it, we didn’t drive that trip and were staying at Turtle Pond :P So we had the enjoyment of walking the resort a couple of times after a long day in the parks on our check-in day.
