That is amazing! You really don’t realize the size of the stage and the walking ramps that lead up to the castle until you see it in this manner. Very cool project and you are doing an incredible job on it!

Thank You Ferg! I did not think about the scale of it also until I started looking at it in the modeling software. WAaaaay bigger than I imagined.
I will have to look at the tree a life now and put it on the list of things to print thanks to you! Hope your happy!

December 27, 2018 at 11:16 am #98095Hello my Disney friends. I am search of Disney files that I can 3D print them out. I am new to this 3D printing and have very little skills in autocad. I am a model train hobbiest and working on my first n scale train model layout. The plans are to built a replica of WDW in N scale for my layout. Here’s the catch two of the buildings are not found in n scale the castle and the train station. Can anyone help me out?
December 27, 2018 at 12:45 pm #98099Hi Nelly,
I’m fairly proficient with AutoCAD / Revit / 3DS Max so feel free to give me a shout if you get stuck with the inner workings.
If you’re willing to pay for them, there are numerous website that sell 3D CAD files, such as the below. However they’re normally pretty pricey for specialist, specific things like you’ll need. https://www.turbosquid.com/Search/3D-Models/cafe
I’d suggest trying the specialist CAD forums, there are a lot of them around with some people who just sit an do these type of things upon demand. although these might be a fairly big ask. N Scale will be a litle difficult due to the finer details being so small as i’m sure you’re aware. There are prebuilt and flatpack kits available at model fairs of a few Disney Buildings i’ve seen in the past like spaceship earth and The Chinese Theatre from MGM (atleast here in the UK), however these where in HO/00 guage so your results in N may vary.
Hope you’re able to track some down

Hello Nelly…
As you can see, It is very possible to print this in N Scale with a budget 3D printer as this is what I did in this post. Although I am unable to share my files, I will be happy to help you anyway I can. The base model I used to make this is available online. I can point you there if need be however, It is not a model meant to be scaled up without some work, but it is possible to get it scaled to N scale and printed as seen in this post. I have a few suggestions for ya before you try printing it.
Dial in your printer: My Castle was 56 parts. (if interested, I can post print times for each part) All 3D printers act differently with different slicers. I would do a bunch of test prints and see how much small details you can achieve. You will find that the standard test print is a Benchy. (Small little boat) I would recommend you find something with a bit more detail than that benchmark STL file to help get your printer setup properly. If you look at my photos closely, you will see that the model has very thin steeples. This took many modifications of my printer to dial it in enough to pull it off. You may get lucky and achieve that right out of the box or after your printer build, but test first. I say this because MOST of the prints were FULL DAY prints. Some of the part were over 34 hour prints. (That’s One Part) The last thing you want is to spend 30 plus hours to get to the very last layer and have it fail.
Try many different Slicers: Most people will tell you to use “these settings” with “this slicer” I would recommend after finding a test STL file to print, try to get as much detail as possible, then try that same print with different slicers. I say this because I was using 3 different slicers successfully after getting my printer. Then I decided to print the Cinderella Castle in N scale and found that ALL of those slicers would fail at the end. Almost gave up but gave another slicer a shot. Wouldn’t ya know it, almost without changing any settings, that new slicer worked like a champ.
Side note: I had my printer for less then a year before starting this project. I knew NOTHING about 3D printing. You will have a lot of failed prints but that is all a part of the path of success. For every failed print, you learn a bit more and before you know it, your designing and printing parts to fix things around the house. Don’t let a failed print getcha down. It’s all a part of learning your machine, slicers and CAD. The Castle is beautiful and I am so glad I did not give up.
Please feel free to ask me anything and if you would like me to post print times for each piece. I truly don’t want to throw to much details here on the forum without interest.
Regards,
Bob -
