@imarebelpilot I would suggest absolutely, positively, no less than 6 days, 7 if you can do it. I know you’re coming from the west coast and each flight is basically going to be a day lost so I won’t ask you to do 8, but if you can make it 7 and travel Saturday to the following Sunday I think your trip would be long enough to not feel rushed so you can take your time.
February 23, 2017 at 12:47 pm #14960@bexruns I agree 100% with @nascfan
And aside from being sure to break from the parks between lunch and dinner I would also suggest planning 2 days for Magic Kingdom, 2 days for Epcot, 1 day for Hollywood Studios and 1 Day for Animal Kingdom.
Also, that time of year, sometimes lunch reservations are cheaper than dinner reservations at the same restaurant and often have comparable menu offerings. Plus, a nice sit down lunch is a great way to start your afternoon break.
February 23, 2017 at 1:09 pm #14969@imarebelpilot i totally agree! we are going in June (gasp!) and i am not crazy about it but i have a teenager who can’t miss a day of high school. so we are going june 1-11. the 1st and 11th are shot due to travel. i got us 7 day ph…planning on 2mk, 2ep, 2hs and 1ak. i plan on getting there at rope drop and doing what we can. having early lunch and then early afternoon fast passes (from 12-3). after that we are heading back to the hotel. we will go back out to the same park or different depending our our moods or dinner reservations!
February 23, 2017 at 1:17 pm #14970Not that we have an actual plan in place (because who knows when we’ll actually go) but the upside is that we’re all adults and can usually manage to go all day, as long as we go at a slower pace.
I’ve been reading about dining plans, are those something to look into or not worth it?February 23, 2017 at 1:23 pm #14973@jamiedawn27 – Like your plan!
@bexruns – They might be depending on your preferences. I will say that the standard dining plan is a lot of food. You certainly won’t go hungry with it. The thing is, not all restaurants are covered by it, so you may want to check if the table service locations you want to go to will fall on the list. For my family’s lot, we used to do the dining plan, but we didn’t always want desserts (esp at Quick Service restaurants), and sometimes we weren’t even hungry enough for a full quick service entree and just a snack would have done the trick. So anymore we don’t find value in the dining plans – but like I said, it’s all preference.

In a nutshell, it really depends on where you plan to eat and the types of restaurants you choose, plus the cost of where you eat, vs. the price of the DP. They have different plans that get you different things, for example you could have a DP that’s only Quick Service, or one that has both QS and Table Service. Everyone in the room has to be on the DP, so that’s something else to take into consideration.
February 23, 2017 at 1:47 pm #14984Adding visiting Disneyland Paris as well as Tokyo Disney to my list!! One can dream…..
February 23, 2017 at 2:57 pm #14999@imarebelpilot we did the dining plan ONCE. never again. it was too much food and i felt like our entire vacation was run by dinner reservations. several times we weren’t even hungry but we went cuz we didnt’ want to lose the meal. to us it was fun to try once but we won’t do it again.
February 23, 2017 at 3:47 pm #15004@jamiedawn27 see that’s what I was thinking. I eat a lot. I love food. But I graze. I don’t eat 3 huge meals. I eat like one thing at breakfast. Then a snack in 2 hours. Then another snack and on and on. My friends tease me about only eating appetizers when we’re all at DL because that’s how I eat all day long.
Thanks for the input guys!February 24, 2017 at 10:15 pm #15174Staying Club Level for a week at the Wilderness Lodge.
