That is a huge difference in prices! What if you were to try booking the two nights individually? I wonder if that would work. I like the looks of Newport Bay a lot also.

So here’s how the math shakes out booking the nights separately:
If I book through the Disney website, each night is 376,60 €, which is about $431 USD, so that’s a total of $862, still less than the 2 nights at club level. Booking through the Disney website means that you get a day of tickets for each day that you’re there, which would mean that we’d essentially have 2 parks tickets each for that middle day. You can book room only, but I think it’s only through outside travel websites.
I just searched on Orbitz for room for the first night, and one night through Orbitz would be around $200. If I booked the second night through Disney, that would put the total around $630, and still get me the 2 days of park tickets that I really want. I might have to go that route if I really can’t book the way I want to through Disney.
And my apologies if all the talk of numbers and what things cost is gauche, that’s not my intent (nobody has said anything, I just wanted to throw this out there). I’m just finding it fascinating how different it is and how much work it is to compare all of the prices!
July 14, 2017 at 12:11 pm #38744Wow girl! You do good homework! We want to help you as much as we can (whatever that is) and the best way is to know what prices you are looking at. I think you’re fine. That second paragraph just above may be your option! This is a lot tougher than WDW isn’t it?
July 17, 2017 at 7:56 am #39024So we have made a decision on our hotel! In a complete switcheroo, we have decided on…. drumroll please..
Davy Crockett Ranch!
http://www.disneylandparis.com/en-us/hotels/disneys-davy-crockett-ranch/The resort is not within walking distance of DLP, which is why we previously dismissed it. Over the weekend we revisited it for 2 reasons:
1) We’ll have a car and it will be cold, so we’ll likely want to drive to the parks
2) It has what looks to be the best indoor pool on propertyThis place reminds me of Fort Wilderness, but it’s all cabins. The cabins each have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen/living room area. Cammie loves the idea of having her own room. And once we showed her the pool, it was a done deal!
Here’s a video tour of the pool area if you’re interested!
So now we have 3 nights of hotels figured out, only 3 to go!
July 17, 2017 at 8:04 am #39028That looks like a great place! Two bathrooms too, she’s going to love that!
That pool! Wow! I could spend a day there I think!July 17, 2017 at 8:27 am #39040I’ve stayed at Davy Crockett Ranch twice!!! I can give you firsthand feedback that it rocks! The cabins are pretty spacious and cozy, you can park your car right outside, they have a mercantile store that’s fun and as you can see, the pool is incredible! Y’all will love it there! So glad you got it figured out!

I’ll have to get all the details from you! It was funny, I joined a DLP group on facebook to get some opinions. Most of the people in the group are from the UK, so they’ve been many times. I asked them which hotel they would all choose and it was unanimous, they all said “if you have a car and a pool is important to you, Davy Crockett is a no brainer!” I actually just made the reservation online about 5 minutes ago. The prices are amazing to me, if anyone is curious here’s how it shook out:
2 nights at Davy Crockett Ranch, Trapper Cabin (there are two levels, it was about 80 € difference. This is the “lower level” the upgraded ones are closer to the main building)
– The cabin has 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed, one with 3 twin beds, so I imagine Cammie will be literally hopping between the beds all night), 2 baths, and a living room/full kitchen area
3 days of park hopper tickets, we’ll likely only use two, but it automatically includes the tickets if you book directTotal price:
471,72 € or
$539.17I tried to hop on the Disney website to compare what a similar trip would be over here (staying at the Cabins, 3 day park hoppers, etc) but the website kept crapping out on me
July 17, 2017 at 10:23 am #39106That looks like a great deal Kelly! Cammie is going to have such fun bed hopping!
July 17, 2017 at 10:43 am #39110I think we stayed in a different cabin because we were a bigger family. We had the master bedroom, a room with bunk beds, and then a murphy bed in the living room. Still super fun! You got such a great deal!
July 22, 2017 at 8:33 am #40250Are there any agents that can help with the reservation? Someone who knows how to work their system? Sounds confusing and frustrating for sure!
July 22, 2017 at 8:35 am #40251Oops never mind that last post, I didn’t read through the whole thread duh
July 22, 2017 at 8:51 am #40253I am all caught up now, I think I needed another cup of sounds like a great place to stay and a great deal!

Thank you! I was going to let my friend who is a Disney TA do the booking for me, but I guess that she could only book over the phone, and this “hack” can only be done online.
July 25, 2017 at 7:44 am #40689So we are starting to get a plan in place, we arrive on Wednesday morning, and we’ll spend the day in Paris before heading over to DCR (Davy Crockett Ranch) for the next 2 nights.
On Friday, we plan on hitting Walt Disney Studios at Rope Drop and staying there until we’ve run out of things to do (which sounds like it’s not that long). After that we are driving to Saint-Malo and spending the night there.
On Saturday we are having breakfast in Saint-Malo and hanging out there for a little bit.
After that we are driving 20 minutes away to Saint-Suliac, it’s on the “Most Beautiful Villages in France” list. Since it’s so close to Saint-Malo and it’s on the way to our next destination, it made sense to visit. We aren’t sure how long we’ll stay, but we’ll most likely have lunch there
http://www.les-plus-beaux-villages-de-france.org/en/saint-suliacAfter that, we are going to drive about 40 minutes away to Mont Saint-Michel. I am really excited about this stop, the place looks unreal. We plan on getting there in the early afternoon, heading to the “island” and touring the abbey and the ramparts a bit. Then I think the plan is to head back mainland before sunset so we can watch the sun set. We’ll get some dinner around there before we head off.
After that, we are spending the night in Bayeux at a bed and breakfast named “Le Petit Matin.” It has great ratings online and looks really cute. We wanted to mix up our lodging between hotels and smaller B&Bs on this trip, so we thought this would be perfect!
The next morning, we plan on visiting some of the Normandy WWII beach sites/museums, but we haven’t really narrowed that down yet. If anyone has any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated! That’s all the plans we have so far, we are literally taking the planning one day at a time! Any feedback or suggestions are appreciated, as this is still such a work in progress!
