New Server Incoming

I know D-COT can run a little slow sometimes all the time. ???? The code is old and so is the hardware we are currently using. The research has been done and I am confident I found a new web host that will do the trick. ???? My next steps are coming up with a transition plan.

I wanted to wait to move the server until the new D-COT Platform was ready. But, that is going to take months. I don’t want to make you all wait that long.

There are some logistics that I have to align, but I hope to move to the new server before October. When ready, the transition will take about two days. During that time, it is possible you might lose some data (points, activity updates, forum responses, private messages, etc). Any jukebox activity (adding, removing, custom playlists, etc) will not be affected. I will notify you when this transition will occur.

Once the transition is completed, I will keep the current server running for a couple weeks before decommissioning it. Any questions, let me know in the comments.

  11. So….it’s October now…do you have any updates on the progress of it? :)

    • The first server I purchased did not do what I needed it to. I had to do more research which cost me a few days. I do have a nice cloud server now and I’ve been migrating the site over slowly. It’s almost ready! The big data like activity stream might have to be a post-launch thing to do (or just lose it all together). I just need to pick a weekend now to do it.
