Member Spotlight – Mod – Nascfan
The Contributor interviews seemed to be enjoyed quite well. Steve suggested we put the mods through the same 3rd degree. I had to amend one question, but here we begin the Moderators of D-COT spotlight. Who better to kick off this series with the number one points/level member, Nascfan!
dngnb8: What does your handle mean and the story behind it?
Nascfan: I was a big Nascar fan and I used that name on the now defunct Nascar boards. I kept it as I joined other Disney sites because it was easy for me to remember. I’ve grown away from the racing now but to change it would be tougher I think, I’ve used it for so long. And I can’t change it because to Chelle it means something very different and near and dear to her heart, NSyncfan!
dngnb8: Well, there is no doubting you have been Nsync with D-COT!
dngnb8: When was your first trip to a Disney Park and what memory is the strongest?
Nascfan: Summer 1972 – I was seven so I really don’t remember pretty much anything, I’m much, much older than seven now! I do feel fortunate to have gone in those early days though. My first trip as an adult was June 1997 – best memory from that was seeing my wife and young daughter’s faces just light up bright as the sun!
dngnb8: No matter who is asked this question, the answer involves family. That is quintessential Disney Parks for you!
dngnb8: What is your Disney Dream Job and why?
Nascfan: Greeter at the front entrance points in the morning, at rope drop. Everybody (most everybody) are so happy and excited for the day.
dngnb8: This so fits in with your personality. I can see you doing this so well. You definitely execute the D-COT welcome wagon with perfection here.
dngnb8: How did you find D-COT?
Nascfan: I didn’t. My daughter Lauren found it. She was doing some schoolwork and searched for Disney music. Later that day she told me, ”Dad, you have got to listen to this!” 10 years later, here I am!
dngnb8: 10 years and a bagooglezillion points later…
dngnb8: You get to interview Walt Disney, but only are allowed 3 questions, what are they?
Nascfan: So tough! I want to ask so many questions! What is your greatest achievement? What do you think of Disney parks today? What would you do differently if you had the chance in your parks?
dngnb8: It would be an intimidating event, but oh what an event to dream about.
So Nascfan kicks off the moderator series only as he can with some wonderful insight. Not only a site leader in participation, but a moderator and key member of D-COT. Thank you Nascfan for sharing, helping Steve with the Moderation, and being the member we all strive to be. You indeed are an intricate part of this site.

I didn’t get to read this in the chaos before my Disney trip but I’m catching up now! I can see you wearing a mouse glove, waving and giving people high fives at the entrance to Magic Kingdom! You’d look swell in the Main Street CM uniform too! I love your question for Walt, “What do you think of Disney parks today?” that would be fascinating to hear his answer!
