H2O Glow Nights at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon: Should You Glow?
Last night I was invited to attend Disney Parks Blog special event at Typhoon Lagoon. H2O Glow Nights is a nighttime event for 25 select nights from May 30 to August 24, 2019 — except for June 20. I was a part of the flashiest, splashiest glow party yet, celebrating Toy Story 4 with some Disney·Pixar pals!
The line to enter was long, but it moved quickly. I don’t think this would be a normal line for normal nights. Disney CMs had to check our papers and driver’s license since this was an invitation-only event.
After entering the park, I was able to grab a beautiful sunset photo of the ship.
As we were waiting for them to let us enter the beach, I enjoyed an Elysian IPA. What a way to start the night! Get the refillable cup ($13.50) if you plan on having more than one beer. Refills for domestic beers are $5.50 and imports are $6.50.
The beach was empty as people entered so I took the opportunity to grab this awesome picture.
The first stop was for something to eat. I needed to fuel myself for all that swimming! Typhoon Tilly’s has a great selection of fried shrimp, fish baskets and chicken wraps. I went for the Coconut Shrimp and Fish Basket ($10.99) paired with a Reef Donkey APA ($9.75). I only paid $6.50 because of the refill. ????
My guest enjoyed the noodle dish paired with the same beer.
You can tell from the picture above that the crowds were low. Disney Parks Blog only invited 1,750 people and a guest so the maximum amount of guests to this special event was 3,500.
H2O Glow has magical meet-and-greets with Woody, Jessie, Buzz Lightyear and Forky! There was no wait to see these crazy critters. I even had a little fun with these two. I asked Woody if he had a snake in his boot. He looked down and grabbed the snake from his boot and passed it to me. I quickly passed it to Jessie and she tossed it into the bushes behind her. *PHEW*
After enjoy their company, I went on Castaway Creek. I always enjoy this lazy river around the park. It takes about 20-30 minutes to do a complete lap. Following that up we hit the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. The wave pool is so much fun! Again, the crowds were low so you didn’t have to worry about people crashing into you as the wave plows through.
After swimming around for a bit, I wanted to try some more of the food (and beer ????). Leaning Palms looked good… so I went there.
Here you can find burgers, chicken nuggets, sandwiches, salads and wraps! Plus, wet your whistle with an assortment of beverages, including a featured ale and wine. I had the Cuban Burger ($13.49): Beef Patty served with Pickles, Ham, Swiss and Shredded Lettuce on a Brioche Bun served with French Fries and Coleslaw. Yum! I paired it with an
Angry Orchard Rosé Hard Cider ($11). I only paid $6.50 because of the refill. ????
So… should you glow?
I would say… yes. The price is $59 for an adult and $54 ages 3-9. If you’re an AP holder, it’s $54 for adult and $49 ages 3-9. The party runs from 8pm – 11pm but you can enter with your event ticket as early as 6pm. That gives you 5 hours at this water park which is more than enough; especially when the crowds are low during the event times.
