    Anyone see this yet? I have 4 or 5 friends on Facebook who have seen it, and they each did not like it. Have any of you seen it?

    I haven’t seen it yet but I plan to. I read the book and really enjoyed it so I’ve been looking forward to the movie. My coworker saw it Saturday and said she loved it and the cinematography was amazing. I wonder what people don’t like about it?

    I haven’t seen it, but my sister is refusing to go because she loved the book so much that she’s afraid she’ll be let down by the movie. I wonder if that is contributing to the dislike?

    I’m hoping to go see it this weekend. I read the book as a child and thought the World of it! But I recently re-read it before the movie came out. It’s definitely a child’s book. But I still enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see all the amazing-ness that just couldn’t be processed into words on the page.

    The people that said they didn’t like it, didn’t say why. Just comments like “waste of money, want my two hours back, don’t go see it” etc. I’ll be interested to hear what you guys think. Again, this was juts 4 or 5 people, but it was a concerning trend as that was the ONLY feedback that I had seen.

    Maybe your friends like more action movies? The book is not an action movie but more of an “experience”. I would maybe ask them why they didn’t like it?

    It’s true, movies are so personal, I can’t think of anything that I view as undeniably bad. Also, some people think the theater is outrageous to begin with so there’s very little that makes them feel like seeing a movie was money well spent.

    Here’s an interesting take I just came across on why the movie seems to be missing its mark with audiences. I’ll be interested to hear from those who have read the book and see the movie if you think this might be part of it, or if you love the movie and think this person is wonky!

    There didn’t seem to be any spoilers. However, it might influence the lens from which you watch it. So maybe wait so that you aren’t influenced?
