One thing that definitely tends to tip me over the edge is when one calls Animal Kingdom a “half-day” park. I wonder why people claim this and personally think it’s currently a three fourths day park but I’d definitely like to understand other’s thoughts on how much time and why you spend that time at Animal Kingdom.

We usually spend most of the day there, I think there is a lot to do, my kids always want to go to the carnival area with the rides and games so that takes up some time too.

We are half dayers but that’s cuz we don’t spend any time doing zoo-type stuff plus the park was never open late. However now with Pandora and RoL I think it might be a full day park!

This last trip we have done, we only spent 1/2 day there… total. Sad to say but it’s not that we don’t like the park, it is just that we spent more time at the other parks. We like to park hop and always ended up at MK or HS for the evening.

We’ve usually stayed until close whenever we’ve visited. Granted we’ve been visiting in the fall so that means 5pm, but still we’ve enjoyed being there all day. I think Animal Kingdom might be the most immersive park, I completely forget I’m in Central Florida! On our next trip Pandora will be open, and Rivers of Light will be performing, so we intend to stay pretty late

We generally spend the whole day at Animal Kingdom. Even though we have seen all of the shows, we still make a point to see each of them again which eats up a lot of time: Flights of Wonder, Lion King, Finding Nemo, etc. We also do the 2 animal treks, and ride EE as many times as possible. Its a beautiful park, and we really like to sit and listen to the music with a cocktail in hand to just BE in Disney. When Pandora opens, we look forward to spending even more time there :ears:

Sounds like we have a similar MO when visiting Animal Kingdom! ;) I love the atmosphere there, I’m really looking forward to hanging out at Nomad Lounge and just be there

For us, it is a full day. If we also go to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, it is a day and a half park. So many shows and fun things to do! And the animals aren’t like what you would see at a zoo. Some are, but many aren’t. And they are closer.

Ive done both, half and full day. I would do the zoo stuff in the day and the ride stuff at night mostly

It is a short day for us. We are only interested in about half the rides, and the “zoo” exhibit is a bit of a breeze through since we are fortunate to have a few good ones locally. Also, we tend to travel at off-peak times so waits are typically low.

We do not do the rope drop battle there, and usually bow out early. Dinner at Boma and then the obnoxious bus wait to make our way back to our resort. If we are fortunate to get back early enough, we’ll clean up and hit whichever park has EMH.

No matter how hard I try, I can only do a half day at AK. I find the same at DHS too though. Maybe it’s because I don’t have kids so I tend to move quickly and not dilly dally? I also travel in the fall and it closes early. I always have said that AK needs about 3 or 4 more big attractions to make it a full day park. I’m so excited for Pandora even though I could care less about that franchise. I watched the movie twice and still couldn’t tell you anything about it. Just not my thing, but I watched so I would know what the heck I was looking at in the park. When we go, we have usually done everything, sometimes twice by 2pm and are ready to hop to Epcot for the evening hours. I’ve always wanted to see AK at night though, so I’m really looking forward to our next trip in November! I think my plan will be to get there around lunch time so that by evening we’re not completely done and trying to figure out what to do now.
